Merit-cum-Means Scholarship

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, was launched by Shri Sultan Chand Trust in 2020-2021 in New Delhi.

Under this initiative, 100% Tuition Fee (for the year), subject to a maximum of INR 200,000 p.a. for ANY course per student/candidate, would be provided to the meritorious students whose family income is less than Rs 200,000 per annum. The continuance of Scholarship on semester to semester and year to year (whichever is applicable) basis will solely depend upon the Student/Candidate’s maintaining the academic excellence standards.

Who is it for/eligibility?

a) Students whose family income is less than Rs 200,000 per annum can apply for this scholarship.

b) The students should have a proven academic record, the student should have secured 90% and above in Class 12th. The Student applying for Post Graduation Course must have secured above 70% in Graduation.

c) The student should have a minimum qualification of class 12th to get qualified for this scheme. If the student is already undergoing under-graduation, then the student should have secured 70% in his last examination of the said course.

d) The courses to be covered in Scholarship are only Undergraduate and Post Graduate Course. Doctorate Courses etc. will not be considered under this scheme.

e) The Student/Candidate should not have been more than 25 years old in case of Scholarship is being applied for Bachelor’s Degree and 30 years in case scholarship is being applied for Master’s Degree as on 30th September 2020.

PAN India subject to the condition that the Institute/college must be within India.

Registration/submission procedure:

Documents required to become eligible for Shri Sultan Chand Scholarship (Email the Scan copy of all documents and then send all the self-attested documents by Post for verification)

a) Academic Marksheet/School certificate for academic excellence of class 10th and 12th from the recognized Board

b) School Leaving Character Certificate

c) Identity Proof of the student and Parents – PAN (if available), Birth Certificate & Aadhar Card of the student, and also the PAN, Aadhar Card and Voter ID of the Parents

d) A passport size photograph (At the time of sending the documents by post, send 4 passport-size photographs)

e) “Asset and Income certificate of the family” from the Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar and not more than 6 months old

f) Student’s Write-up on the course and college details and vision for next 5 years

Terms & Conditions:

a) “Shri Sultan Chand Trust” reserves the right to accept/reject the application as per the standards prescribed under its policy. The decision of Shri Sultan Chand Trust shall be final and binding.

b) The Student/candidate must provide the academic records (Marksheet and certificate from the college) for Class 12th (in case of Undergraduate Courses) and Bachelor Degree (in case of Post Graduate Courses). The candidate must submit his/her academic report alongwith marks/grades secured to continue the Scholarship for further years.

c) If the student drops out from the course voluntarily, he/she will have to reimburse the scholarship amount to Shri Sultan Chand Trust, as may have been paid by the Trust till the date of his/her drop.

d) In case the student fails to achieve the academic excellence in a particular year, the scholarship would be withdrawn for the next academic year after giving an opportunity of being heard to the student/candidate in writing.

e) In case any student(s)/candidate submitted any fraudulent or fake or forged certificates and/or records then Shri Sultan Chand Trust shall reserve its right to take the necessary legal action in such cases.

f) After the student is shortlisted and before the disbursal of scholarship, the trust may make a video conferencing call with the student for a brief interaction.

g) The student will have to furnish an “Undertaking” that he/she will not take any other scholarship after he is provided the “Shri Sultan Chand Merit cum-Means Scholarship”.

h) “Shri Sultan Chand Trust” shall deposit the scholarship amount directly into the Bank Account of college /institution/university after the student provides the admission letter from the college/Institute/University.

i) “Shri Sultan Chand Trust” shall remit the funds to the College/Institute/University within a period of 10 working days

j) All communication is strictly to be made only through email. No communication and applications will be entertained by any other medium.

Disclaimers:

a) The above advertisement/Scholarship scheme is subject to the compliance and fulfilment of the Conditions laid down under “Shri Sultan Chand Merit cum-Means Scholarship Policy’.

b) Notwithstanding anything contained above, the trust, its trustees, employees and officers etc shall not be liable in case the above said scholarship could not be granted to any Student/Candidate due to any reason whatsoever.

c) Notwithstanding anything contained above, the Student(s)/Candidate(s) while applying for the Scholarship agrees that this Scholarship program is purely voluntarily on the part of the Trust and no right is being created on the Trust or its properties, officers, trustees, employees etc. of any sort against the said application. If any of the Student(s)/Candidate(s) do not agree with the above condition then he/she must not submit his/her application under the said program. The Student(s)/Candidate(s) further agrees that in case their application is rejected or the Scholarship Amount cannot be deposited due to any reason then they shall not claim any sort of damages or relief in a court of law.
